Review: The Friend Zone (Game On #2) by Kristen Callihan

Gray doesn’t make friends with women. He has sex with them. Until Ivy.

The last thing star tight-end Gray Grayson wants to do is drive his agent’s daughter’s bubblegum pink car. But he needs the wheels and she’s studying abroad. Something he explains when she sends him an irate text to let him know exactly how much pain she’ll put him in if he crashes her beloved ride. Before he knows it, Ivy Mackenzie has become his best texting bud. But then Ivy comes home and everything goes haywire. Because the only thing Gray can think of is being with Ivy.

Ivy doesn’t have sex with friends. Especially not with a certain football player. No matter how hot he makes her…

Gray drives Ivy crazy. He’s irreverent, sex on a stick, and completely off limits. Because, Ivy has one golden rule: never get involved with one of her father’s clients. A rule that’s proving harder to keep now that Gray is doing his best to seduce her. Her best friend is fast becoming the most irresistible guy she’s ever met.

Which means Gray is going to have to use all his skills to get himself out of the friend zone and into Ivy’s heart. Game on.

Hi it’s Amy with another review. It has been a while since I read a NA book and The Friend Zone was exactly what I wanted and needed.

IvyMac: You love soup too?!? Soup lovers’ fist bump! Booyah!
GrayG: Booyah! And baby, I make the best soup you’ll ever taste.
Ivymac: Oooh, talk to me, Grayson. Just. Like. That.
GrayG: Marry me, Mac.
IvyMac: Okay, but only for the soup.

Gray and Ivy start texting after Ivy finds out her dad has lent Gray her pink car while Ivy is in London, warning Gray to take care of it or else he’ll have to pay. That text leads to more texts and eventually texting eachother has become part of their daily life. It’s all friendship, brother and sister, until Ivy comes back from London… and they find out there’s a whole lot more going on than just friendship.

I’ve just officially met Ivy Mackenzie, and I realize I’ve missed her for what seems like years.

Thus starts a friendship with a lotta sexual tension and them trying to make it work as just friends. And ohmygod it is amazing. They are both hilarious and I died laughing so many times.

“I cannot be imagining you all..” He waves a hand in my general direction. “Bare down there.” I snort at his indignant look.” “Oh please, I’m not bare  down there anymore-” “Not helping the situation,” he says darkly. “I’m trying to commiserate, you noodle. Because the itching was torture when it grew back. And do not get me started on the pain of waxing. I was certain that evil woman had ripped my lady lips off.”
“Lady lips? Oh, Christ.” His gleeful laughter echoes through the stadium.

This book had it all: it was funny as fuck, cute, sexy and at times, painful for your heart, but only a few times. Promise.

“You’re attached to your phone like it’s become your second dick.”
“Don’t see a problem with that. Two dicks, twice the fun.”

I can definitely recommend this book if you’re into some fluffy NA. Its a fast read, I started yesterday morning and I finished it the same day. It’s not super original, but very enjoyable nonetheless and I can’t wait to read the third book.
