Summary:

Torn between duty and survival, nothing can be the same.

Everything Ivy Morgan thought she knew has been turned on its head. After being betrayed and then nearly killed by the Prince of the Fae, she’s left bruised and devastated—and with an earth-shattering secret that she must keep at all costs. And if the Order finds out her secret, they’ll kill her.

Then there’s Ren Owens, the sexy, tattooed Elite member of the Order who has been sharing Ivy’s bed and claiming her heart. Their chemistry is smoking hot, but Ivy knows that Ren has always valued his duty to the Order above all else—he could never touch her if he knew the truth. That is, if he let her live at all. Yet how can she live with herself if she lies to him?

But as the Fae Prince begins to close in, intent on permanently opening the gates to the Otherworld, Ivy is running out of options. If she doesn’t figure out who she can trust—and fast—it’s not only her heart that will be torn apart, but civilization itself.

Review:

Oh god! Can I have the next book right now, pretty please? I was in a reading slump, and this one totally took me out of it! JLA is always a safe bet.

God, I loved him more than I loved pralines and bidgnets, and that was hardcore, because my love for sugary, sweet things rivaled the most epic love stories known to man. Thinking of never seeing him again made me want to curl into a ball, and that would be incredibly stupid, because I’m pretty sure, with my busted ribs, it would hurt like hell.

I loved all of her books, and Torn brings together everything that I love the most about them. Her writing style is captivating, hilarious, hot as all hell; mostly a light and funny read, but at the same time there are those emotional sides to her characters that will completely shatter your heart. After finding out that she’s the halfling, Ivy struggles with her identity, and with Ren. She doesn’t want to hurt him in any way, and considering the whole reason why he’s there is to kill the halfling, things are a little tense. But she’ll figure out what to do soon, since she’s a badass, brave, strong, and amazing female character.

The plot takes unexpected turns and Ivy finds herself facing some of her worst fears. That’s when JLA gives her best. When her characters are put to test, she knows so well how to make it the most emotional. I cried like a freaking baby.

The prince seriously freaked me out, he’s one creepy fae. But thank god, there’s Tink to make up for it. Oh boy, how I love Tink! He has me laughing like a maniac most of the time. And the things we find out about him in this book! You don’t want to miss it. Then, of course, there’s Ren. Ren, sweetness, marry me. Kidding, you need to marry Ivy, but whatever.

Anyway, awesome book, fast paced and action packed plot, incredible character development. JUST GIVE ME THE NEXT BOOK!
